Later, a Latin chant caused the Jackal, along with the other 11 ghosts, to go to the centre of the machine and power it up. Later, the Jackal re-encountered Arthur up in the house, viciously tearing into his back until Kalina used another flare to ward the Jackal off. He pursued Kathy, Arthur, but was separated from them by a sliding glass door, the barrier spells preventing him from crossing the glass door. He was forced to release her when Kalina arrived and hurled a flare at the Jackal (as the fire which killed the Jackal makes his ghost afraid of any kind of fire). The Jackal was the fifth ghost to be released. The Jackal was then moved to the basement of the house. When a fire broke out at the asylum, Ryan chose to stay behind and meet his deserved fate.įollowing his death, Ryan's earth-bound spirit was captured by Cyrus to become the Jackal. However, Ryan gnawed through it, so the doctors locked Ryan's head in a cage and locked him in a dark basement cell, where he grew to hate anything human, and would cower and scream madly whenever approached. When Ryan attacked a nurse, the doctors put him in a straightjacket and tightened it whenever Ryan acted out, contorting his limbs horribly. He scratched at his cell's walls so violently, that his fingernails were torn completely off, making his hands claw-like. Seeking treatment, Ryan committed himself to Borinwood Asylum, where he eventually went insane.
